Description | Oinochoe of greenish glass with heavy iridesence. Pontil mark on flat base. Body is slightly indented from base and flares to the shoulder. Sides are fluted with six deep indentations. Over one of these indentations is attached the base of the ribbon handle. Shoulders taper in to the narrower, straight neck. A thick thread forms a collar just above the base of the neck. Neck flares outward into a wide rim that has been shaped into a trefoil. A similar thread collar was placed just under the rim of the vessel before it was folded into trefoil shape. The top of the ribbon handle is attached at the rim. Bubbles observed in glass. |
