Description | CBS Register: Babylonian seal cylinder, hematite PBS XIV: The worshiping of Martu, and of Ishtar. She holds the scimitar and a finely drawn caduceus. She has a horned mitre, her head in front face, with tresses on either side, a plaited shawl girded about and opening in front to let pass her bare leg lifted on a small lion. Between them there is a crooked stick and behind Martu a half erased worshiper. “Martu//son of Anu.”Concave cyl. seal. Hematite, 17 ½ x 8 ½ mm |
