Description | Wooden animal figure, a Hopi badger with long beak, bundles of feathers attached to either side of the head, and body paint of predominantly black and white with accents of yellow, red, blue, and green. A smaller bundle of feathers sits on the top of the head. Yellow decorations are painted on the badger's face below and above its eyes. The figure wears a white dance kilt with an embroidered shash on the proper right (PR) side. A string, likely used to mount the object, is found around the neck of the figure. |
