Description | One end (the prow?) of a dugout canoe with gently rising prow and stern that has been sawn across the width. Bottom missing for most of length. Wood with red, black and white pigments. Band of carved and painted decoration along outside of gunwales: unraised areas pigmented black and white on red background. Inside of gunwales decorated at 50-cm. intervals with opposed pairs of painted red and black concentric circles (four pairs each side). |
