Description

Cylindrical, single-headed, wooden drum with a hide membrane. The hide is stretched over the frame and tied to itself on the underside. The drumhead is also secured on the underside with iron tacks around the frame and a plant fiber cord across the middle. The membrane is decorated on the interior surface with a central, skeletonized, straight-beaked bird design painted in blue and red. The exterior is undecorated. A red-painted, wooden drumstick with a soft, hide tip is associated (NA9222.2).
