Description | According to writing in pencil on shaft, this is the handle of a model plow ("Handle of the plow. Holds the . . . . . . . [illegible].") Piece of lightweight wood carved in the shape of a bird, through which is inserted long thin piece of similar wood, one side of which is cut out to form a series of more or less jagged protrusions. Possibly the handwriting of Hiram M.Hiller, in which case the provenience might be Sumatra. |
