Description | Sandstone, grey. Upper part of six vertical columns of incised inscription originally filled in with blue paint. The inscription contains praise of Amon spoken by an official, Denreg, who was connected with the mortuary temple of Nebmaatre (Amenhotep III). A Denteg (spelled identically) is attested in Tomb C.6. of Qurna (PM I. 1, 458-9), as High Priest of Montu. He was the son of an official in the Temple of Thutmose IV (temp. Thutmose IV and his brother was First Prophet of Thutmose IV. |
