Description | Colonial copy of ancient Peruvian type [?] Globular with flat base and central spout in form of man wearing European pants, coat, and a "Napoleonic" hat. Obverse: Below man, large panel with stippled background and vertical row of five annulets, four birds (2 being hummingbirds?) across centre, with flowers above and below. Reverse: 4 long narrow panels, outer two cross-hatched, inner two with raised dots, small flowers, and incised wavy lines. Panels show little or no polish; rest of jar slipped and polished. |
