Description | Reproduction of a bronze cornu. Lacks wood cross bar which rested on the player's left shoulder to be grasped by his left hand, his right hand pressing the mouthpiece against his lips. Used at the beginning of the Christian era in infantry bands, at funerals, at circus plays and bachanals. Fair condition. End piece detached, metal coroded. (Musical Instrument Card) |
