Description | "Pottery spindle whorl, hard-baked brown, Class IIb stemmed." as per register. Design is complex, made of four very wide bands, of two different interior patterns; the top and bottom are hatched, the middle has sort of a bow tie shape with circles in the ends and very small lines above. Hatched boxes in the spaces between bands. Stem is angled, not vertical, and decorated with two bands of hatching. Flat bottom has a ring of circles around the inside hole, and four lines extending to the edge, where they make a T shape. |
