Description | White plain weave cotton with faint band of red stripes at opposite ends. Heavy purple, yellow, blue and gray embroidered intaglio in center covering 2/3 of tzute. Two breadths joined by silk thread rendas. Large purple tassel at each corner. As per Sigrid Meier, "Warp: 96 epi, single, Z twist, white cotton. Weft: 32 ppi, single, Z twist, white and red cotton. Warp plain weave. Supplemental weft - two faced. 2 panels - 2 selvedges each. Made on a backstrap loom." |
