Description | Two fragments found separately and subsequently glued together. Reddish-brown, fine-grained rock. Broken, midsection remains (with two or original edges). Ground on one surface only. Light colored fine grained rock with concoidal fracture (chert or volcanic origin). Artifact is broken into two pieces with the numbers 57 and 71. One edge is straight while the other is subtriangular. Both edges have steep retouch, but not over their entire length. The ends are narrow and are also retouched. A large flake (struck prior to the removal of the flake used to make this artifact) covers over one-half of the dorsal surface. |
