Description

Small Red Jar

Wide mouthed vessel with an ovate body, flaring collar, flattened rim, 2 horizontal strap handles on the body, and a conical (aribaloid) base. No molded/modeled additions. The body of the vessel is painted orange and the collar is painted red. The vessel was likely fired in an oxidizing atmosphere as the ceramic paste is orange in color. The catalogue number is written on the bottom of the base and black ink on the bottom of the base reads: "2342b."
