Description

Red ware effigy vase with stirrup handle. bird. Perforated around eyes and under bill. Comb on top of bird's head. Convex bottom. Hole at end of tail. Painted design visible around bottom: one row of dots with wavy lines underneath (black paint with red ware showing through as design). Note: "Pottery duck from Cicus in the far north Peruvian coast. Dated (by estimate) about beginning of Christian era".
