Description

For general shape and structure (rib), cf. Parkinson, Dreissig Jahre..., P1. 36, No. 2, and see Pp. 507-508. The middle part of the shaft is covered with basketwork in yellow (natural) and red (dyed) plant cuticle. The origin of the rib (towards the shaft) is marked by a carved ornament consisting of two lozenges, one in outline with a boss in the middle. One face of the blade near the point has 6 doubled chevrons incised and lime-filled on each side of the rib.
