Description | Oblong, plaited, ash splints; flat bottom with even width splints; sides flare some-what. Lower 3/4 of sides have alternately "wide" horizontal splints and 1 red and 1 plain narrow horizontal; upper 1/4 has only narrow horizontals in same colors. Vertical splints are alternately red and blue. RIm finished with splint hoops. Broken at top on one side. Dyes (or paint?) probably native (red from cranberry? blue from indigo? |
