Description

Fragment. Deep blue woven in tan. Eight-pointed star.

Warp: \ linen; tan

Weft: \ linen; tan: \ wool; dark-grey.

Technique: Tapestry over 2 alt 3 warps.

8-pointed star with fragment of step sprouting from one point. Star has plain edge, disc border, interlace in points. A large ring carrying wavy vine stem with large leaves, surrounds a diaper of hexagons and lozenges. The pendant at the end of the stem is a symmetrical group of 3 leaves and 2 tendrils.
