Description | Painted bark cloth, painted red and black on the natural tapa. Red lines are approx 3 cm. thick, outlined in black. Running the length of the top and bottom of the cloth is a border consisting of S-shaped elements and a heavy line under it. The bulk of the cloth has the same basic design motif repeated eight times (two rows of four). Each individual element consists of two vertical parallel lines that run close to each other, and squiggle outward at the top and bottom of each line. |
