Description

Sommerville: Chalcedony, tinged with Sapphire color. Pompey, one of Julius Caesar's first triumvirate, consisting of Pompey, Crassus, and Julius Caesar. A ring from the collection of the late Professor Heindorf of Munster. Gold Rings - Intaglios, Case FFF.

Vermeule: Chalcedony, with touches of Sapphire. (Modern gilt ring setting) Bust of Pompey facing to right. The features are copied from those of the statue in the Palazzo Spada, Rome. Neo-Classic. "From collection of the late professor Heindorf of Munster."
