Description

Black jug of a conical fruit-shape (pepino-shaped) cylindrical neck, everted lip, one loop handle body to neck

Narrow-necked jar/bottle with an effigy-fruit shaped body, cylindrical neck, flanged rim, 1 strap handle extending from the neck to the body, and a flat base. The body of the vessel is in the form of an acorn-shaped fruit. There appears to be a burnished finish on the exterior. The vessel was likely fired in a reducing atmosphere as the ceramic paste is gray, buff, and orange in color. The catalogue number is written on the object in black ink. Black ink on the bottom of the base reads: "3116."
