Description

Sommerville: Sardonyx. Galba, sixth emperor of Rome. Greek and Roman Cameos, Case O.

Vermeule: Sardonyx. Cameo. (Unmounted). Laureate, bust of a Roman emperor facing to left. Sommerville suggests Galba, but the features are more those of Tiberius. 18th, in skillful imitation of an ancient gem.
