Description | UE III: cattle coming out of the byre and facing a seated man. A jar between them suggests the dairy. The byre, found on many other seal-impressions, is a typical reed-hut of Southern Mesopotamia, with an arched roof out of which project side-buckles or horns, which are the terminals of the bundles of reeds used in the construction, curved and tied scrollwise. The panelled door which follows the lines of the hut is also made of woven reeds. Clay sealing. Baked and shellacked post-excavation. Fragment with various seal impressions. |
