Sommerville: Onyx. Hercules. Greek and Roman Cameos, Case D.

Vermeule: Onyx. Cameo (unmounted) Bust of the bearded Herakles wearing lion's skin. Composition inspired by a Roman marble bust of Herakles of colossal size in the British Museum. A Neo-Classic copy is on the roof of Sir John Soane's Museum in London.
