Description | Red pot with serpentine lines in relief and spotted in white Cooking pot (olla) with a carinated body, bulging collar, flanged rim, 2 horizontal strap handles on the body, and a rounded base. The vessel has two raised snakes along the shoulder. The vessel has a red slip and has white painted lines around the handles, neck, and on the snakes. The vessel appears to have been smoothed with a rotative movement on the exterior and scraped on the interior. The vessel was likely fired in an oxidizing atmosphere as the ceramic paste is orange in color. The catalogue number is written on the object in black ink on the bottom of the base. Black ink on the bottom of the base reads: "2733f." |
