Description | A large clay vessel with a large wide rim with holes poked through the bottom. There is a criss cross design of lines all around the jar. It is used for making alkali with ashes of coconut, sugar palm, and others. These are put into the pot and water is allowed to drip through. This is then used in dye making and bleaching clothes (ใช้สำหรับการย้อมคราม). There are black marks from an outdoor firing process (no soot is present). |
