Description

Plain. Flat bottom angular body, flaring neck; one shoulder to neck handle

Narrow-necked jar/bottle with an ovate body, flaring neck, outward sloping rim, 1 strap handle extending from the neck to the body, and a flat base. No decoration. There appears to be a smoothed finish on the exterior. The vessel was likely fired in an oxidizing atmosphere as the ceramic paste is orange in color. Fireclouding is present on the body. The neck is smoothed with rotative movement. The catalogue number is written on the object in black ink on the bottom of the base. Black ink on the bottom of the base reads: "1261d."
