Description | Flattened bottom, black jug with high horizontal loop handle on upper body, long neck Narrow-necked jar/bottle with a globular body, cylindrical neck, rounded rim, 1 horizontal strap handle on the body, and a flat base. No molded/modeled additions. A band around the join between the neck and body has an incised triangle design at the four corners. There appears to be a burnished finish on the exterior. The vessel was likely fired in a reducing atmosphere with localized oxidation as the ceramic paste is gray and orange in color. Evidence of usewear includes surface attrition on the bottom/base. The catalogue number is written on the object in black ink. Black ink on the bottom of the base reads: "2806." |
