Description

Hand embroidered Chakla wall hanging. Generally made in matching pairs. Central square with purple diamonds and mirrors two of the four corners. Surrounded by thin borders of ellipsies in purple, biege, blue and pink thread. With a green outline, as well as border made of blue, purple and natural checks. Following border emulates the central design, beyond that border is a design of triangles in purple, green, beige and blue. Triangles as well as circles with mirrors at their center on natural background. Outermost border is of a serrated natural colored cloth sewn over top of orange cloth with embroidered strip designs. Loops at two corners. Reverse is natural color. Purchased 1971.
