Description | Dating done by Dr. William Coe. Descriptive details from: "Ceramic Stratigraphy at Cerro de las Mesas, Veracruz, Mexico." B.A.E. Bulletin 141 by Philip Drucker Material from surface and cuts along highway and no excavation notes. Fine Paste, traces of red paint on face, possibly mold made (?). Hollow figure, front of head and upper part of body present. Has headdress with punctations. Eyes and brows indicated by slanted lines, prominent hooked nose, mouth open looks like "Xipe type". Part of right arm present. Between arm and right cheek is a circular object with hollow center, possibly an ear spool. |
