Description

painted. Flaring neck; two vertical loop handles on body.

Narrow-necked jar/bottle with a globular body, flaring neck, rounded rim, 2 strap handles on the body, and a flat base. No molded/modeled additions. The vessel is painted with a geometric design in black and red. There appears to be a burnished finish on the exterior. The vessel was likely fired in an oxidizing atmosphere as the ceramic paste is orange in color. The catalogue number is written on the bottom of the base and black ink on the bottom of the base reads: "642."
