Description | Cippus of Horus carved from steatite. Obverse has a central image of Horus the Child, standing with his arms spread out. He holds two snakes in either hand. He stands on two crocodiles which face opposite directions. A rough inscription is scratched around the edge of the piece. The back is decorated in registers. The upper register has a kneeling woman facing right below wings (?). The second register has a line of four standing gods, facing right. At the far right is an ibex (?) also facing right. Below this are six lines of rough text, read from right to left. The sign forms are semi-hieratic. |
