Description | Pottery. Depressed globular body, cylindrical neck one vertical loop handle from shoulder to neck. painted: black white red: vertical stripes. Narrow-necked jar/bottle with a carinated body, hyperboloid neck, outward sloping rim, 1 strap handle extending from the neck to the body, and a flat base. No molded/modeled additions. The vessel is painted red with vertical stripes in white and black. There appears to be a smoothed finish on the exterior. The vessel was likely fired in an oxidizing atmosphere as the ceramic paste is orange in color. The catalogue number is written on the bottom of the base and black ink on the bottom of the base reads: "352." |
