Description | A fish trap with a small neck and big body and square base. At the top opening there is a stick that can be removed. It is executed in a uniform style of weaving, except for immediately before the middle where the basket size begins to change and the weave is not as tight. At the bottom on the side is a small opening and attached inside with string are very small pieces of wood. It is staked in deep and flowing water with the hole away from the flow. Bran is used as bait during September and October when the water us slowing and receding and the fish migrate. This migration is known as Pla Hom (ปลาฮอม). |
