Description | Painted bark cloth. Design first divided into four rectangles. Each rectangle consists of squiggled straight and curved red lines (approx. 2 cm. wide), outlined with a thin black line, on the natural color of the tapa. These painted red lines were laid out as to provide a balance between the painted area and the natural unpainted white of the tapa, that is there is approximately 2 cm. between the lines. The unpainted area is occasionally dotted in black. |
