Description

Carved spoon made from two pieces of horn. The sheep horn bowl is incised on the underside with a formline design of a face above a pair of long claws. A goat horn handle is riveted to the bowl using four copper rivets. The handle is carved with an animal head, likely a wolf, with the mouth open toward the spoon bowl as if it were swallowing the bowl. Eyes are carved into the handle toward the end.
