Description

Stave of palmwood pointed at one end, and with small shouldered offset at the other, over which the string is looped in a "doubled string slipknot" (Leakey, Jo. Anthr. Inst. LVI (1926), p. 267), this end of the string being carried down along the stave and wound round it near the middle.
