Description | The mouthpiece is placed near the middle of the inside of the curve of the tusk; the mouthpiece rim is undercut. But it differs from the latter in having only a slight buldge in this region, without the sharply cut transverse ridges. The small end of the tusk behind the mouthpiece is carved in a manner generally resembling that of fig. 226 in Annales du Musee du Congo, III, 1. The latter however includes the mouthpiece in this decorative treatment. The undercut ends of the mouthpiece rim have been squared off. |
