Description

Round aryballos. Buff clay (and self-slip?). Reserved ground. Wheel-painted lines encircle bottom and lower wall: 1 line; interval; 2 lines; interval; broad band; interval; 3 lines. Wall: 3 soldiers advancing to the right, each carrying a spear; simple but practiced incisions indicating helmet, face and center of shield. Shoulder: tongue pattern radiating from base of neck, within 3 wheel-painted lines. Edge of lip: wheel-painted line. Top of lip encircled by wheel-painted lines & bands: from center, 2 lines; band; interval; 2 lines. Base of handle: horizontal line.
