Description | Globular body with flattened base; bulbous neck; two vertical loop handles on body. With an incised and punctate design on neck. Narrow-necked jar/bottle with an ovate body, bulging neck, rounded rim, 2 strap handles on the body, and a flat base. No molded/modeled additions. The vessel has incised lines and punctate dots decorating the neck. There appears to be a smoothed finish on the exterior. The vessel was likely fired in an oxidizing atmosphere as the ceramic paste is orange in color. Evidence of usewear includes surface attrition on the bottom/base. The catalogue number is written on the bottom of the base. No other numbers are visible on the object. |
