Description | Fragment of handle of vase: horns of consecration. Full length of base of horns preserved and one horn; of the other horn only the point of attachment remains. Between the two horns is a low, rounded protuberance. Only one, long side is decorated. On the side of the one horn are horizontal, closely spaced lines. On the side of the base is a horizontal zig-zag line between two lines. Traces of another zone of decoration below. Decoration painted over a white slip. Back, sides and inner surface of horns glazed. Broken edges below, at ends, and at back below horns. Very hard, pale buff clay and red-brown glaze. |
