Description | Sommerville: Sard. A Figure of Victory. Archaic Intaglio. Intaglios and Their Imprints, Case CCC. Vermeule: Green Jasper or Sard? Intaglio. (Unmounted) Broken across middle and repaired. Nike seen from back walking to left. She holds an object resembling a sheated sword or panzonium in her extended left hand. Greek, perhaps of IVth century B.C. or at least of the Hellenistic period. |
